Free Hospitality Risk Assessment Generator
Tool built 6 Oct 2026
Create a complete risk assessment template for your hotel, restaurant, pub, B&B, café or holiday let anywhere in the world. AI drafts hazards, who is at risk, controls, likelihood × severity ratings and actions, ready to review and print.
This is an AI-drafted risk assessment to help you prepare your own. It is not an approval or a compliance judgement. Check every hazard, rating and control against your premises and local health and safety law.
What is a risk assessment?
A risk assessment is a careful look at what in your business could cause harm to guests, staff, contractors or the public, and whether you have done enough to prevent it. In most countries employers must assess workplace risks, and many must keep a written record.
The five steps to risk assessment
Identify the hazards; decide who might be harmed and how; evaluate the risks and decide on controls; record your findings; and review regularly. The generator applies each step to the activities and facilities you describe.
Risks covered for hospitality businesses
Slips, trips and falls, fire, food safety and allergens, manual handling, hazardous substances, electrical and gas, water and Legionella, pools and spas, security and violence, alcohol, lone working, working at height, contractors, weather, cyber and business continuity. For specialist assessments use the Fire Risk Assessment Builder, HACCP Plan Builder or Business Risk Analyser.
Risk ratings explained
Each hazard is scored 1–5 for likelihood and severity. Multiplied, they give a rating of 1–25: 1–4 low, 5–9 medium, 10–16 high, 17–25 very high. Tackle the highest first.
Frequently asked questions
Is this risk assessment template free?
Yes. The generator is free, needs no sign-up, and nothing you enter is published or indexed.
Which businesses can use it?
Any hospitality business in any country, including hotels, restaurants, pubs, bars, B&Bs, guest houses, cafés, takeaways, holiday lets, campsites, hostels and event venues.
Is the AI risk assessment legally approved?
No. It is a draft to help you write your own assessment. Check every hazard and control against your premises and local health and safety law, and ask a competent person for advice where needed.
How often should I review my risk assessment?
At least once a year, and whenever something significant changes, such as new equipment, building work, new activities or after an accident or near miss.
Do I still need a separate fire risk assessment?
In many countries, yes. Fire safety usually needs its own detailed assessment. Use the Fire Risk Assessment Builder alongside this general assessment.
